Comfy and convenient

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. It was very comfortable, and the location was fantastic. The walk to the beach is very quick, and the area of the beach was not overly crowded. It’s on a quieter part of the island. Management was very quick to respond to an AC issue we had during our stay, even though it was on a Saturday. We will be back!

We spent 3 nights here and enjoyed our stay. Cottage was clean and convenient to the beach and Savannah. Wish the shower head inside had better pressure but I was able to still get the sand out of my (long) hair. Outside shower is better :) The king size bed is firm. We did not use the smaller bedroom. We didn't use the kitchen for cooking but it seemed well appointed. Would absolutely stay again. Agency should include lock code in checkout instructions, as the links auto update at the end of the stay.

Great experience overall. Close to beach, clean, well maintained mid-century cottage.
Bring your own cookware, not much there and it is pretty worn out.
Also, there is no table for eating, so prepare accordingly for young children.

Everything was great. The only issue we had was the bathroom sink drain was very slow draining the water. It needs to be unclogged.

Perfect quiet beach spot!

We came for a mini moon and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind post wedding! House was clean. Great for access to beach and grocery near by.

Cozy Tybee Cottage

I really loved my stay here. The bed was very comfortable and it had mostly what i needed for a short stay. A few items olive oil spray and coffee creamer and tea would be a welcome touch. A few extra scrubbers for pan sticks as well since there is not a dishwasher.

The Cottage is in a convenient location that was pleasantly quiet even on a holiday weekend. It is, however, in need of TLC. It's ready for a coat of paint, a bit of scrubbing here and there, but most importantly for this septuagenarian, furniture and mattress that not only look good but that are comfortable. Fortunately, I had an extra beach chair that I used to sit in while I was there and spent some time with family who were staying a few blocks away. As to the last question in the survey about recommending it to a friend, there is no option for anything other than a Yes or No answer, when the answer actually is "it depends." I'm sure that young people who are seldom in the Cottage and are a bit messy themselves would find it great. It really does have everything you need (thought skimpy on toilet tissue & shampoo).

Cottage is wonderfully situated - an easy walk to the beach and close to the IGA grocery store to pick up food for the kitchen. You must drive to restaurants. Very quiet location, away from stores, hotels and noise.

Great little getaway cottage!

This little cottage is perfectly appointed for a small family who wants to spend most of their time on the beach. The inside of the house has lots of vintage charm, like glass doorknobs and beautiful floors, but has the necessary updates that make it work, like a cold AC, nice lighting, omfortable mattresses, and an updated kitchen. We loved the screen porch and the sweet little patio in the back. The outdoor shower was also perfect -- private enough to shower, not grimy, the sky and trees overhead! The house was also very clean and was not cluttered with random beach decor. One thing to suggest is proper bedding on all of the beds. All of the beds had sheets, not all of them had blankets, and one didn't have a mattress pad. Next time we enjoy this little oasis we will bring our own bedding along. The location in mid-beach is great: close to the IGA, a quick bike ride to both ends of the beach for restaurants and other things. This was our first visit to Tybee and we loved the whole place!

Maintenance issues: back door's knob on the inside is broken and kept falling off. Dead bolt on the front door would not release the lock, so if the door closed behind you when you went to the front porch someone would have to let you back in to the main part of the house.

Was perfect for a couple! Small but very cozy ! Bedroom was perfect bed comfortable. Bathroom was on small size!
Kitchen /living area was nice! We didn’t eat there, just made coffee in the morning! We did remote work and living was great for that!

Quiet Beachside Cottage

Out family of four had a wonderful stay on Shirley Road in mid-June. The cottage had everything we needed and was clean and well-maintained. Very quiet street and peaceful front porch. Great backyard too with newer-looking landscaping, patio, outdoor shower, and path to beach (via neighbor to 10th street). The 10th street section of the beach was not very crowded and nearly empty at times in the middle of the week. We are already talking about when we can make a return visit!

Good location, close proximity to the beach a plus! Our family of five loved it (kids ages 6,11,15). The stove, fridge, microwave and gas grill were all utilized. The beach chairs and umbrella were fantastic as well. We highly recommend and will definitely stay here next time we visit.

Four of us stayed at 7 Shirley Road and it was delightful. Just the right amount of space and I loved all the doors so the place could be opened up in the warm air. The screened front porch was very nice. The (newly landscaped) backyard was absolutely wonderful. Such a perfect place to sit and relax. As one of us is a landscape architect and 3 of the bushes seemed to be dying we watered all the new plantings as we had no rain the entire 7 days we were here. Washer and dryer are dated but work well. We ate out most of the stay so rarely used the kitchen to cook but essentials were all there. The cottage is on a very quiet road and perfectly centered to get to any place on the island. Beach access is close and takes one out to the beach in the middle of the island which is less crowded. We did have a plumbing issue which Jim took care of within 1 day. I do suggest that that a small bedside table be placed in the main bedroom and bunk room as there is no place to place anything except on the floor (we used the stools). All in all I highly recommend this cottage. We had a wonderful time! Thank you Jim and Debbie.

Just what we needed.

We had waited to book a getaway. Generally we start months in advance. When I landed on Tybee Cottages website, I found it easy to navigate and was able to locate 2 that were available. I called and Jim at Tybee Cottages and he talked with me at length so we could make the right decision for us. We decided on Shirley Road Cottage and were not disappointed. The road is very quiet, the cottage is easy to access from the main road and the beach access is probably most a 2 minute walk. We loved the uncluttered and updated cozy decor. This cottage was very very clean, which is important to us right now. It had everything we needed and the location was convenient to the grocery and to restaurants (we walked to both)There is a school nearby although it was not in session so it was even peaceful during the day-although I would enjoy hearing the children if they were having school. Thank you for a perfect accommodation and we will be back. Highly recommend.

It was a perfect place to spend a week relaxing and recharging. Loved being tucked away on the quiet street with easy access to the beach. The screened in porch was the best for enjoying morning coffee and an evening glass of wine. Had everything we needed. A cozy cottage for sure!
