Its long and lean frame is the focal point for the living and dining area of the home. Cozy sofas, quaint dining nook both overlook the swaying dunes of Tybee! The Cottage has a general Reto and vintage theme with a fully stocked kitchen, three bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The third bedroom and additional bathroom is located on the opposite end of the cottage that includes a queen size bed and large alcove for additional space. Recent Reviews About This Property

"Myself and two of my sisters wanted to relax and enjoy the beach for a few days and found the Tybee Trolley to be the perfect answer. It’s quaint and comfortable. All one level and right on the beach. Loved the decor and whitewashed interior. It’s a 2 mile walk on the beach from it to the point (past the pier) so perfect for getting four miles of exercise everyday or an easy walk towards the channel to view the ships as they come in or also visit the lighthouse and museums by it. Perfect accommodations for 3 to 4. Think that 6 may make it a bit crowded but could accommodate up to 6. I will definitely be back and would recommend the Tybee Trolley to those who appreciate some time period surroundings and uniqueness in their cottage. Had a great time!"

Cathy S. from Villa Rica, 10/30/2022

"This was such a peaceful, private, adorable place to stay and right on the beach... we enjoyed our long weekend and the beds are super comfy- I love different places and this cool old trolley is different- in the best possible way!"

Vicki W. from Jefferson, 09/25/2022

Vicki, So happy to hear you enjoyed are eclectic trolley!!! We would love for you to come again for another trolley ride! Denise and the TC Team

"This little house was awesome. It was perfect for us, two adults and two kids. I loved the details of the Trolley in the house. Easy access to the beach. A little difficult to find when we first arrived but didn’t mind being tucked away the rest of the trip. Felt safe the entire time. Great communication with the property management. I would definitely recommend to family and friends!!!"

Schuyla L. from Gaffney, 07/29/2022

"Not a new, sterile condo but rather a lovely little house built around an old trolley car. It had everything we needed and was right on the beach. A stroll across the walkway and you are in the water."

Linda W. from Sycamore, 06/13/2022

"The trolley house was perfect for our girls trip! The house was very clean and in a perfect location. We would definitely stay again! Thank u for letting us enjoy your home!!"

from Stilwell, 06/04/2022

"We loved the trolley house! Very short walk to the beach. The drive way was a little difficult to find if you are using your GPS but not a big deal. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. "

pamela s. from cedartown, 05/18/2022

"The Tybee Trolley was the perfect place for an extended weekend stay. It is the perfect size for a family of 4. We loved the character the trolley added to the house, relaxing on the porch and spending time on the deck outside. Although the dunes block most of the view of the ocean, you can hear the waves rolling in and it is a short walk over the boardwalk or dunes to the beach. We LOVED being on the quieter side of the island but still close enough that we could walk to restaurants. It was a wonderful vacation experience. "

Candice S. from Green Bay, 05/10/2022

"We had a great time! The trolley was perfect for our group. The accommodations were nice and the location was great!"

saralyn d. from Huntsville, 02/25/2022

"The Trolley house is an excellent property. It is right on the beach and near everything. It's an older home and has a small kitchen, but has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Its very unique due to the inside is actually an old St Louis trolley. So if you are a history buff, you will enjoy staying at this home. "

carol s. from Canton, 11/29/2021

"This small but adorable cottage packs so much into the cozy space. Lots of historic trolley touches and beautiful antiques. The location was perfect. The dunes provided privacy and you can actually see a partial ocean view from the house. The home was perfect for our family vacation. The kitchen and baths are a bit outdated which makes them look a bit dingy but there are not dirty. Overall a wonderful stay. Would recommend!"

COURTNEY W. from Webster Groves, 09/02/2021

"Such a cute little place! Rustic, clean, comfy, charming, direct beach access all made for a great weekend getaway!
The dunes blocked most of the beach view, but that wasn’t a big deal.
A little hard to find the driveway & would've liked a little more direction for that.
I didn’t quite understand why we were expected to take out our own trash... should’ve been same process as a hotel.
I would have also liked a later check out than 10 a.m....again, should be same as a hotel."

Tybee Trolley

"We had a wonderful stay at the Tybee Trolley Cottage. We were looking for a convenient place to stay while visiting Savannah and this cottage was the perfect location. i am so happy we decided to stay on Tybee Island rather than in Savannah. It was just my husband and myself, and we felt very comfortable and relaxed with this cottage. I absolutely LOVE being right on the oceanfront, where we can hear the waves crash and watch the huge cargo ships go by! When we go on getaways, I always look for some place unique to stay and the the old St Louis Trolley that is built into the cottage was the perfect uniqueness. It was very charming and had everything that we needed for our 4 night retreat. Thank you, Jim, for being so kind and accommodating. If we happen to visit the area in the future, I will not hesitate for a moment to stay at the Tybee Trolley Cottage again!"

Roxanne H. from Effingham, IL, 03/22/2021

"We spent Thanksgiving week at the Trolley house and enjoyed the home and all it's unique features. We can not ask for a better experience in working with Tybee Cottages and are very satisfied with the home and location. The Trolley house is comfortable and just right for us with wonderful access to the beach. You just step off the porch and walk across the beach access and you are there. "

carol s. from Canton, 11/30/2020

"Like a lot of people, my wife and I have really needed a break, but with aging parents and people in the family with underlying health issues, we've been very hesitant to take a trip during Covid. We could not have chosen more wisely for so many reasons.
First of all, the area of Tybee Island and Savannah was relaxing and as safe as I could imagine any tourist place being. We were always able to eat outdoors and most everyone we encountered was wearing a mask. We really enjoyed the hospitality and beauty of the area.

As for the cottage, this charming little cottage built around a trolley captured our hearts! We don't just want to come back to Tybee, we want to come home to the Trolley at 1 Second Place! Nothing was missing - we had every comfort. The beds and sofas were incredibly comfortable. The ability to step from the backdoor right onto the sand spoiled us! We hardly left the cottage. My wife would have taken the blue denim sofa home with her if she could have figured out a way to fit it in her bag.

Because of illness, we actually cancelled the trip and then with the doctor's ok, we booked it again - all with no problem at all.

Altogether as wonderful a vacation experience as we have ever had and we are sure to come again to the Trolley at 1 Second Place.

"The Tybee Trolley was perfect! We loved the history, the quirkiness, the brilliant way they added to the trolley to make a beautiful little beach cottage. The location and the cottage itself were just incredible! The sunrises and the evenings were absolutely beautiful and dinner on the deck was sublime. Initially, we were disappointed to find out that beach refurbishment placed a sand dune in front of the cottage, obscuring the ocean view. However, once we got there, we actually appreciated the sand dune. We could hear and smell the ocean and feel the breeze but had wonderful privacy from all of the beach goers. As much as I love all of the old cottages on Tybee, I don't think we'll ever be able to stay at another place on when we visit there because this little Trolley house is heaven! **If you need new, updated and granite countertops, this is not your place. If you appreciate history, character and location, you will love it!"

from Knoxville, 08/03/2020

"Jim- thank you so much for this great place on Tybee Island. It was calm and cozy, and easy beach access. Thanks for taking care of my last minute stay, again!"

Cyndi W. from , 07/26/2020

"The Trolley is an older and very unique property full of quirky charm. We have stayed at the Trolley many times and hope to stay there again in the future. Our only disappointment this trip is that the recent beach reconstruction has blocked the view of the beach and ocean. "

Glenn N. from Tennille, 03/09/2020

Thank you for spending another vacation at the Tybee Trolley. We are glad that you had another enjoyable vacation. The construction referenced involved building up the sand dune in front of the trolley. This project was concluded by April 1st.

"Went there with family. Enjoyable experience. Only complaint would be the beds. We like a firm bed and they were very soft. "

from EAGLE MOUNTAIN, 09/17/2019

"As always a stay in a Tybee Cottages home was awesome. The Trolley is not a 5 star resort, but it wasn't expected to be. It's very comfortable for 3 people, and I'd definitely rent again with 4. Being beachfront is special. Thank you, Jim! "

Nell M. from Smyrna, 05/28/2019

"Everything was great! The cottage is so unique & the location can’t be beat. I would literally open the back door & let the boys run straight to the beach. We loved everything about the cottage, from the trolley itself to the linens, amazing sink, super-comfy couches, and the beach chairs provided. "

from charleston, 04/13/2019

"Great location. Charming cottage and amenities. Our favorite place to stay on Tybee. Jim Heflin is wonderful with and very accommodating. Can’t wait to return. "

Glenn N. from , 03/17/2019

"It was wonderful as always! This home is well kept and always clean and comfortable. Its convenient to everything, especially the beach. I would recommend this property to anyone. We love the small town feel at Tybee like the IGA grocery, the small shops and the local restaurants. "

carol s. from Canton, 11/27/2018

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week staying at the Tybee Trolley cottage. It did not disappoint - lots of character and charm. Due to dietary restrictions we ate most of our meals at the cottage. Kitchen was well stocked and enabled us to do all the cooking we needed to do. Lovely ocean views-great beach location. We alternated daily either going into Savannah to tour and explore or spending time on the island doing the same. That worked out wonderfully for us."

Jane E S. from Camp HILL, 10/08/2018

"A secluded quiet restful getaway."

from , 09/09/2018

"The old train car feel is really neat. Ceilings are low but overall space is plenty big enough for 3-4 folks. Cannot beat location! Right on the ocean. Lovely porch and deck right outside. "

Brady C. from , 06/07/2018

Tybee Trolley ??

"We loved the trolley! It was cozy and had character. The beds were very comfortable. Sometimes when you rent, you know the owners never stayed there i.e. no hook where you need one, no table for your mug , etc. The trolley was thoughtfully done. The sun room was lovely to watch the many cargo ships coming into port. Nothing beats having the beach/ocean right in front of you. We were very pleased with everything and already talking about returning. "

Susan J. from Hershey , 04/02/2018

"They Tybee Trolley was the perfect place for our after Christmas getaway. We loved being right on the beach. I worked while we were there and was able to sit on the enclosed back area and watch the ocean and ships while working! "

Kellie P. from Florence, 01/06/2018

"Our Stay was very relaxing and comfortable and even though the weather was a bit nippy, we were able to sit in the enclosed porch area and view the beach. The cottage was very unique and was exceptionally clean. It was in a great location. The kitchen was very small, but suited our needs for 4 adults staying here. "

carol s. from Canton, 11/28/2017

" When it comes to vacation getaways, The Tybee Trolley has been one of the best I have had in resent memory. An that all started from the outstanding cottage which housed my family and I. This lovely beach front spot gave us the best of views to enjoy while we planned out our adventures for the day. Also the restored old timey St. Louis trolley frame gives to the well spaced cottage something for your eye to constantly move to and stay in awes of, if you can tear them away again from the fantastic view of the beach you will have. I can not speaker higher or kinder of the time we spent at the Tybee Trolley and know that I can't wait for my next stay."

Kathy H. from Washington, 11/05/2017

"The cottage was great and the loacation was perfect!"

Rock W. from Saint Louis, 08/21/2017

"Jim has always been the best and easy to work with. Location and property was great. As always Enjoyed renting from Jim and Tybee cottages."

DENNIS S. S. from , 06/15/2017

"The house was great. We had an excellent time. Future guests should be aware that there are several stray cats that live on the property and use the sand directly in front of the house as a litter box. They didn't bother us, but we did have to watch our step on the way to the beach. May be of concern if you have kids that want to play in the sand there. Also, the twin bedroom can only be accessed through the master bedroom. However, it was an affordable, nice, beachfront property."

from Columbus, 05/02/2017

"Tybee never disappoints in the view of my wife and I! This is our first time actually staying ON the beach and it was very enjoyable. As it was mid-March, we were not expecting warm weather to be able to be out on the beach like in summer, so having the enclosed porch and deck right on the sand was a very nice amenity! The Trolley House was PERFECT for what we were looking for and already has us talking about returning! Can't ever go wrong with Tybee Cottages in our opinion!"

Vince K. from , 03/22/2017

Fabulous!

"The views of the beach and ocean got our attention first, Second was the quaint, relaxed feel of this beautiful little cottage which is literally built around a trolley car! It is nestled between other cottages and the DeSoto hotel, but we never heard a sound at night. The beds are comfy, the views are spectacular, and the location is perfect. Away from all the crowds, but close enough to walk to the pier. If your looking to do a lot of cooking, this is not the place, The kitchen is small and cozy. Perfect for breakfast and lite lunches. We drank our coffee every morning, then several mornings walked to the Sugar Shack for breakfast. We had one problem with locking the back door and there was someone their within 20 minutes to help us out. We will definitely be returning to this little gem. "

Angie D. from Cleveland, 03/10/2017

"Fantastic !!!
Starting with Jim - great person to do business with, friendly and very helpful.
The Trolley had a lot of character, clean, amenities were nice and the deck got a lot of use. We both had a great stay. Thank you Jim
