Charming Island Getaway

My family of four loved this absolutely charming and homey island getaway. The home which was on the Southern end of the Island where the river met the ocean was the perfect location. The river side was calmer with no waves which made for easy floating and kayaking. The ocean side was only a few hundred yards away where we could play in the surf and my daughter tried surfboarding. The home had a huge screened in porch with room for everyone to spread out. The view was magnificent and it was a very short walk to the beach. The home was very comfy with four bedrooms and three baths. The kitchen was a little small but well equipped with everything we needed. The decorations and ambience were very vintage and unique and I felt like I was in a special place. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip!

Love Swan Cottage!

This is the second year we have stayed at Swan Cottage. We love the large upstairs porch. We spent most of our at home time there. The sunsets are beautiful and we could watch them from the porch. Swan Cottage is located right on the river and the ocean is right around the bend. The location of this property is so convenient to the shopping area. We walked there everyday to shop, get sushi or get ice cream on the pier. We felt very safe walking the streets and the beach.

Best “Home” on Tybee Island!

Swan Cottage is our absolute favorite vacation home we have ever stayed. It wraps you in so much comfortable warmth and so welcoming. Every night we would gather on the huge porch or walk out to the beach to watch the most incredible sunsets each night. The porch was also where we would have family dinner at the large dining table. We have been vacationing on Tybee Island for the past 12 years. The past two years we were fortunate to stay here. This home is by far our favorite and hope to continue revisiting each year. It is the one time of year that we get to see our other 3 couples that get together for our annual Tybee vacation. All are from different states so it is perfect to have found a place that brings us together and to make lasting memories. This home will always bring a smile to my face and we already are excited for next summer. Thank you so much for opening up your beautiful beach home to us!

Great Stay on Chatham

We had an outstanding experience at 1807 Chatham. This was our 3rd time staying here and its all about the location being right on the back river dunes with views of the river meeting the Atlantic. The historic house is truly wonderful as if walking back in time with a large second story screen porch. While a bit dated it has all the modern day comforts and any deficiencies are made up by the view and location

Swan Cottage Escape

I used to live next door as a child and knew the people that lived in this cottage well. I rented Swan Cottage about 35 years ago for $1,000 a month. I loved it so much that when i developed "cabin fever" at home I decided this cottage would be the best one to escape to.

We stayed Labor Day weekend! Loved the house and the location!! It is an older house and that is what gives it so much charm! The screen porch is a great place to just sit and relax! You do have to go outside in order to get to the bedrooms upstairs, at first I was not sure how I would like it but turns out it was not a big deal. We had plenty of room and space for our party of 8! I will be staying again!! Tybee Cottages are great to work with!!

Swan Cottage

We love the location on the river so that we can kayak, swim, explore, etc. We spend most of our time on the screened in porch playing games, having dinner, and just hanging out. The house definitely has character and is perfect for our family. My only complaint would be that the doors sometimes lock someone in a room when a door knob gets stuck and it could use a little bit of a touch up as far as painting and some minor repairs. We love staying here anyway as the location is perfect for us. This is our third year; hoping to be back in 2018.

Great view but no where to sit and enjoy it!

Wonderful location. Great views! The beds were comfortable but there wasn't a comfortable seat in the house including on the porch. The kitchen is awful the counter, drawers and cabinets are dirty and need to be updated. No surprise there are no pictures of the kitchen on the web site.

Best kept secret on the Georgia coast.

We had a great time staying at the Swan cottage. The "Back River" of Tybee is one of the best kept secrets on the Georgia coast. The sunsets here are spectacular and the beaches are far more private than on the front beach. The Swan cottage itself has everything that you need for a great getaway. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, and the wide screened in porch upstairs gives you one of the best sunset views on the island. You can absolutely not go wrong choosing the Swan cottage for your family vacation.

The Swan Cottage is fantastic. It has a beautiful porch w/ views of the water and beach. A walk over the dune to the beach. The best location in Tybee. Favorite activities: reading while laying on the porch, swimming, eating at great restaurants, cooking and dining on the porch, sunsets w/ a glass of wine! The house is perfectly charming, clean and comfortable.

Wonderful beach house, classic southern!

We loved the house! I have a picture of the porch on my ipad home screen. I will rent this house again. Upstairs and downstairs beach facing doors were hard to keep closed just to let you know. The outside shower room was the best shower , I wish I were at the house now ??

Awesome Beach Vacation

Relaxing, beautiful, child friendly and the most gorgeous view, not to mention a great beach with plenty of room to move around without infringing on anyone else's space. Amazing Tybee Beach Cottage

Relax on the inlet

This property was different you had to go out side to get up to the bed rooms from the living & dinning area we got use to it! kitchen is small screened porch is very large with nice view. Towels & sheets very adequit with cleaning supplies, new refrig we had a nice time there and would probable stay again

Just what we were hoping for -- and then some!

Where to start? The location? Right on the estuary, practically at the southern tip of the island. We actually never walked the few steps to the ocean because the water was perfect right where we were. Savannah was so close we explored its beauty often. Or should I mention the fabulous charm of this cottage? Wonderfully decorated; comfortable beds with quality linens; plenty of places to lounge and take in the incredible views; more than enough space for us to spread out, and there were 8 of us, mostly teenagers and adults. Mr. Heflin, the realtor who was so incredibly helpful? Thank you so much for your quick and kind responses to my many questions -- very appreciated.

Thank you for sharing your home -- the perfect beach house for us to take a break from life and relax and enjoy our children and their friends.

Wonderful vacation at Swan Cottage

My family and friends loved staying at Swan Cottage. The rooms were very comfortable; the house has plenty of baths with showers to accommodate a large group; and the views from the porch were magnificent. We enjoyed watching the changing tides, the human activity on the beach, and most of all, the amazing sunsets from the comfort of our screened porch. We plan to make Swan Cottage our family vacation spot on Tybee for years to come!

My Perfect, Laid-Back Beach Weekend!

This classic beach "cottage" was awesome! They just don't make houses like this anymore with the coolest 2nd-floor, wrap-around, screened, sleeping porch I've ever seen. I'll go back just for the porch that practically sits on top of the beach and gives you the front row view! You don't have to leave the house to experience the sunset, waves, water, gulls... It was wonderful! The house had everything we needed in terms of amenities for cooking at home, watching a movie or playing board games, and town was a short walk, maybe 10 minutes, which was nice. So happy to have had the experience and we look forward to going back!

If you are the easygoing type, this is the perfect rental for an on-the-sand beach vacation. It has plenty of space, an enormous porch with furniture and a gorgeous view, and the owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.
