Happy colors make happy cottages and memories that turn into timeless treasures. Over the years of knowing designer Jane Coslick –www.janecoslick.com – her personality is where all of the colors originate. She is an absolute pleasure to work with, and an even better friend. Above all, she has made a living transforming the forgotten into happy spaces full of warmth and coziness. First and foremost, she starts by cleaning the slate with one of her favorite colors the “great white.” White gives the cottages the fresh and clean feel our guest love, and then Jane applies her designs with her signature happy colors! Finally, lets take a look at all of the happy cottages she has created for our current clients –
This serene Jane Coslick decorated 2 bdr/1ba cottage has a splash pool that will bring you back to times when things were simple and little slower. This sweet cottage has been featured in books, magazines and on the Tybee Tour of homes.
This rental cottage, built in 1935, was moved and saved from demolition in 1996 by preservationist Jane Coslick. One of the first of her many “saves”, it was featured on the 2000 cover of Coastal Living.
Another rental cottage that has been renovated by prominent preservationist Jane Coslick. Built in 1938 and renovated in 2004.
The magical touch of Jane Coslick is evident everywhere in her latest restoration, Southern Tides. Her simple, natural approach brings out the beauty of this spacious, welcoming rental house. Wood floors and ceilings, white walls with colorful, “one of a kind” art, and comfortable slip-covered sofas and chairs have Jane’s signature look, which she somehow makes unique to the character of each home she decorates. As she puts it, “The wonderful old made new.”
This is the tree house rental of your dreams (15 steps up). Surrounded by live oaks and palm trees, this beautifully and simply decorated cottage on a quiet street will make the hustle and bustle of the real world fade away. Jane Coslick’s signature colors of aqua, lime and coral pop against the white bead board walls and ceilings.
If you stare at the Pink and White Zebra Stripes on the shutters of Jane Coslick’s latest renovation, a pink zebra may appear. So they say, and who knows, because you are on Tybee where the ocean fixes everything. Walk into this charming haven and leave your everyday cares behind, because who can be stressed in a cottage decorated in colors like Beach House Blue, Tybee Turquoise, Beach Bucket Red, Key Lime Parrott, Luscious Little Cottage Pink, and Anna Banana Yellow? The white board ceilings and walls make Jane’s signature colors pop and, as usual, the art and accessories are simple and unique.
This 1948 Tybee rental cottage is the perfect vacation home for a family of four. Renowned preservationist and designer, Jane Coslick, was delighted to lend her talents to revive this home which once belonged to the family of her girlhood best friend. The editors of HGTV and Cottage Style magazines were impressed with the results and the Coral Cottage has been featured in both publications!
The Sundew Cottage was just featured in a photo shoot taken by Cottage Style. We can’t wait to share the results! This is one of Jane’s finest projects. She worked relentlessly, even on Sundays, to make it a very special place for everyone to enjoy and garner inspiration.
These are only a few of Jane’s designs, specifically the ones we rent to help make your vacation dreams come true. Jane has many other fine projects like her recent completion of Maddie’s by the Sea. We hope this blog emulates her passion for these cottages. Over the years, her passion has made her Tybee Island’s best ambassador and her designs have attracted visitors from all over the world.
