Recent Reviews About This Property

"Overall, we enjoyed this house & would stay here again! The pros- clean and the decorations were perfect. The chandeliers are breathtaking. I loved the prints/paintings in the house as well. All of the beds were so comfortable and we appreciated that both masters had King beds in them (my husband is 6'6" so he appreciates a King!). The kitchen was well stocked and the table had plenty of space for us all to eat. The outside shower and hose came in handy for rinsing off after the beach, and we made great use of the grill outside! The bunkbed room was perfect and thoughtful with reading lights at each bed and cozy themed bedding. Great touches everywhere. Loved the restored older pieces from the dressers to the claw foot tub. The pocket door to make the back master bathroom available to the kids or closed off to them was very smart! The street this house is on is beautiful and on the bike path which was great! Cons- the back master bedroom can be warm, it doesnt get as cool as the rest of the house; but again, the place has been restored so this can be expected and it didn't bother my MIL too much. The dining table is wobbly and didn't mesh well with young kids. It's a beautiful table, but the legs probably need some reinforcement or a middle leg to help support it better? Lastly, we were a bit disappointed in the proximity to the beach. We have never stayed at Tybee before, so reading "2 blocks" was something we should have researched more. It was so hot with no shade on the walk. Took us ~15 min with 3 kids 7&under. So we drove each day and had to pay for parking which was a bummer. It took away from running back to the house real quick for something; but if you have older kids then biking or walking probably wouldn't be an issue.
The management staff was excellent to work with and hassle free! We also highly recommend Cafe on 80 and Salt Island Fish and Beer. They did takeout and everything was delicious!"

"The Sassy Seagull was the PERFECT place for our family vacation! Given the recent concerns around spiking cases of COVID, I found this cottage to be impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and so comfortable. The kitchen and grill allowed us to cook at home during our stay. Jim Heflin was a delight to work with while making the reservation and very responsive. I highly recommend Tybee Cottages!"

"We had a wonderful two days on the Island - even though it rained all day on Saturday. The cottage was lovely and Jim Heflin was great as well. Would highly recommend anyone considering where to stay on Tybee to contact him!"

"Our daughter and her family rent across the street and our son and his family join us in our cottage so that we can help with the little ones. The spacious living room and dining room allow us all to sit together and visit. This year uncles and aunts joined us on Tybee for a relaxed reunion. Tybee is the best!"

"The Sassy Seagull more than exceeded our expectations. The cottage was very clean upon our arrival. Everything that we needed was already in place including some beach items that came in handy. Location was perfect for us. Nothing but positive things to say about this property. Hoping to go back and stay there again next year."

"This has to be one of the cutest cottages on Tybee (and I biked around enough to feel qualified to say this lol). Loved the bright colors and beachy decor, the puzzles and games, the well-stocked kitchen, the abundance of fresh towels, the outdoor patio and the beach chairs and towels that came along with it. The walk to the beach is super easy, and it was nice to be mid-island, where it's a little less populated with partiers. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the relaxing charm of Sassy Seagull! "

"Perfect rental for exploring Tybee and the area. Cottage was spotless, comfortable and had everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. Location is perfect...quiet residential area but close to beach, the pier and south end of island. "

"I had a very enjoyable stay! The cottage is comfortable and bright and cheery! It is nicely appointed with everything you need! "

Paul B. from , 03/03/2019

"We all loved the home. Everyone whom visited us wanted to how to rent it. We all want to come back and enjoy ourselves again. The home was very clean and had everything that you would need for your stay. The kids played games and really enjoyed their stay. The patio in the back was not mentioned on the rental but it was a nice place to relax and read my book (early) while everyone was still asleep. we hope to be back soon!!"

"We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation home while in Tybee. The Sassy Seagull is colorful, adorably decorated, spacious, impeccably clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. The beds are AWESOME! Location was perfect for our family. The house is in a safe, cute neighborhood, just a couple blocks off the Main Street. Just a short 5 minute walk to the beach. Beach chairs and towels provided. We recommend bringing a wagon to haul your cooler, boogie boards, and other stuff to the beach. You will likely want to bike or drive to the lighthouse or restaurants. There’s a small shed in back we used to store our six bikes when we weren’t using them. Very nice outdoor patio with a grill. We loved it!"

"We rented this cottage for a week with our son, his wife and baby. It is a beautiful cottage and very comfortable. Our daughter and her family rented across the street at the Bead and our cottage was perfect for everyone to gather in. Great outdoor shower that we all loved!"

"We had a lovely weekend with family. The temperatures could have been better but none of us can control that. "

Larhonda L. from Cedar Bluff, 04/04/2018

"Had a wonderful “snowbird” stay. Such a bright, cheery atmosphere to spend part of the winter."
