Goes By is an original 1920 Tybee Strand Cottage that has hardwood floors,
beadboard walls, tall 14' ceilings with transom windows, a claw foot bathtub
and a wide curving porch on three sides. Acclaimed designer and
preservationist Jane Coslick's touch is everywhere in this home from the
inviting bed on the porch for napping, to the built in bunk room with
individual reading lights for each bunk, to the beautiful and comfortable
furnishings throughout. Jane has kept the soothing white color palette and
added lots of beachy turquoise with pops of pink, orange and citron through
original artwork, vintage furniture finds and cool lighting and accessories
from some of her favorite makers (including Stray Dogs Designs and Ro Sham
There are four steps up to the main level which features the updated kitchen
with island seating for 4, light filled dining room with seating for up to
12, laundry, living room with large tv, as well as the master bedroom (King
bed) and guest bedroom (two Queen beds) which share a full bath.
Upstairs is a third bedroom (Queen bed) with adjoining reading nook,
bunkroom (four Twin beds), upstairs den with tv and game table, and a shared
There is plenty of room and seating on the large wraparound porch for
reading, visiting and dining al fresco. Or just hanging out and enjoying the
Tybee breezes! The porch also has a ping pong table. Two outdoor showers
make it easy to wash off and change after a day spent at the beach!
This house is located just one house from the beach and the beach is
accessible via a private walkway (with steps) that takes you halfway over
the dunes. Another option without steps is to access the beach via the
public 13th Street walkover a short walk or drive away.
