You are four blocks from the Tybee Pier, a block from the island grocery store, and near many restaurants and shops.
When you go up the twelve steps of this restored 1940 cottage, the breezy covered porch and sitting area welcome you. As you step into the open living/dining/kitchen area, you may notice the rustic dining table that easily seats eight. The kitchen has a bar with three stools and opens onto the open back deck with a grill.
The queen bedroom also has bunk beds. This room opens onto a back screened porch as does the master which has a queen bed and an ensuite full bath with a tub/shower. The second full bath with shower is in the hall across the third (king)bedroom,
Bead board ceilings and walls showcase the owner's talent as an artist. Most of the paintings are by him and add to the simple charm of the cottage. The decor is uncluttered, and the feeling is serene.
But you may want to spend all your time in the backyard, where you will find a comfortable 10X21' saltwater pool, island landscaping, and relaxing furnishings.

Recent Reviews About This Property

"This is an amazing property! The property was clean, calm and comfortable. It had everything we needed and extras like beach chairs, beach towels and all our linens. The artwork is beautiful and most pieces were done by the owner. Jim Heflin was terrific to work with. I love the residential quiet area it was located in. This is our second time at Tybee and we have used Tybee Cottages both times. Terrific company! "

"The Beach Bungalow is the perfect get away for your get away. So close to Savannah for sight seeing and so much more of the night life. The family woke up and went to the beach, then went to the City, then came back to the salt water pool. With its open space from kitchen to the living room and size of the rooms the bungalow is perfect. Management is very professional and checked in to make sure everything was going well. Finally the art work in the Bungalow was very much our speed. In fact I need to find a print of one of the pieces for my home. "

"Our family had a wonderful time in this beautifully maintained cottage. We felt just like we were home and thoroughly enjoyed the new pool! We will be coming back to Tybee and definitely renting a cottage from Jim again. Who knows we may just have to try them all!"

"The Beach Bungalow was the perfect spot for a much needed end of the summer get away for our family. The house was very clean and comfortable with fun art throughout. The pool was an added bonus for afternoon and evening relaxation. Jim and his staff were very accommodating and when we had a bizarre instance of a pancake getting caught inside the oven door, they managed to get someone to come and rescue it. We all had a laugh. Highly recommend Tybee Cottages and would love to return to Beach Bungalow. Close to the main beach and the "little beach" which we prefer for kayaking. We enjoyed lunch at Stingrays as well as A-J's Dockside. We were also delighted to be able to watch the great fireworks display from our front porch on Sunday night.

The only thing we missed was a DVD player as we are "old school" and had brought a couple of movies to watch that were not on Netflix yet. "

"Came for a week at the end of September. House was clean and spacious. Pool was perfect and loved hanging out on the front porch in the evening. House was also a quick short walk to Sting Rays and downtown. Jim at Tybee Cottages is always quick to answer any questions I might have. Have always had a great and flawless experience with Tybee Cottages."

"We loved this home and definitely plan to book it again. Short bike ride to our favorite restaurants and the beach. The house is nicely updated and was very clean. "

"Our group was delighted to find such great accommodations at the Beach Bungalow at 1315 Jones Ave. We found the the Cottage very comfortable and well equipped. The pool was especially nice, everything was clean and we appreciated having an outdoor shower after the beach and a nice washer and dryer to wash our suits and towels!
We had a great time at the Beach Bum water gun parade, and enjoyed the night life within walking distance ! We did rent a golf cart and drove all over the island.
Our favorite restaurant was AJ’s, there was a wait to get seated but we enjoyed the evening breeze and gorgeous sunsets!
Highly recommend this property!!! Jim from Tybee Cottages was great!

"We loved staying at the Beach Bungalow, and was the perfect size for our family of 4 plus a set of grandparents. The house is very charming, and the porches were very cozy and comfy for reading and hanging out. The pool was really cute, and actually the perfect size for us and our 7 year old twins. They LOVED it. The location made lots of restaurants walkable in addition to the pier and village area. And the beach was just a short drive. We loved our stay, would highly recommend, and look forward to a return. Thank you for always being prompt with our questions, and for the great property!"

"My daughter and son and their families enjoyed valuable time together, which we only get to do a few times per year in this fantastic cottage. It was so much more that we expected. We walked to the beach four blocks away two days and then discovered North Beach for a much more exclusive spot. The pool in the back yard was a comfortable and convenient respite from the direct sun and the little boys loved it. The outdoor space was excellent and the surprise ping pong table was a hit. Hope to return."

"Enjoy time on the pristine front porch while talking to family/friends, or soaking in the sounds of nature. This historic property offers all of the comforts and conveniences of home, with the hint of nostalgia.

The property is excellently maintained by Jim and Becky of Tybee Cottages, and they helped with every step of the rental process. We highly recommend renting from Tybee Cottages!

While you're there check out Sundae Cafe, Sundial Tours (Little Tybee Unplugged), and take time to visit the squares in Savannah! "

"The property is amazing! The front porch was our favorite place. We were able to spend the majority of our time sitting on the front porch and relaxing while watching people go by. The house has anything and everything you would need for just a few days or several months. The pool was also a great feature to have when you were tired of the ocean and all the sand. The place felt like home. "

"Our family loved the cottage and especially the pool! Super cozy with all the amenities we needed. Close to dining and shopping. Would definitely stay there again when we visit Tybee Island. "

"This lovely Tybee cottage has everything you need for a wonderful stay! Airy and open indoors with comfortable beds and baths, and breezy porches including a back screen porch in the tree tops. The pool and backyard are a private, lush oasis! The ping pong table and corn hole added to the fun. Jim is always great to work with too!"

"The bungalow is very comfortable and spacious. Beach, bay and the restaurants are all a short walk away. The beach is so wide and gorgeous. The subset on the bay side is special. The side streets have little traffic and are perfect for biking. The host, Jim, is very friendly. We had a wonderful time there."

"Always looking for a unique place to stay. This property is fantastic. Location, location, location. Really walking distance to beach. The property is fully equipped with all your needs. Only thing we brought was a cooler. Beautiful decorated but not were you feel uncomfortable. Such comfy living room furniture. Beds are very comfortable. Screen porches are so enjoyable. Already talking about a future trip.
Only negative is there are covers that did not allow sun to be able to enjoy pool to get a tan. Perfect if you don’t like sun Great water pressure and plenty of hot water for an older cottage. "

Sadie H. from Madison, 05/17/2021

"The house was perfect and had a personal touch throughout which made us all feel like we were at home. The porches and pool area were perfect for hanging out and enjoying our time there."

from Mount Pleasant, 06/29/2021

"We enjoyed the house a lot. The interior was clean and well decorated, the beach chairs and wagon under the house were super helpful, and the beach was just 4 blocks away. We also appreciated the kid-friendly games and other touches. "

Claire W. from Decatur, 08/09/2021

"This was our 9th consecutive year vacationing in Tybee. This year, we allowed ourselves a full two weeks and were extremely happy at the Beach Bungalow! This was far and above our favorite lodging yet. We’ve stayed in several condos and a couple houses in the past but the beach bungalow had just the right combination of amenities we enjoy including a private pool where we ended up spending a large part of our time! Tybee Cottages was also wonderful to work with including quickly fixing a broken air conditioner while we were there. We loved it so much, we’ve already booked 2 weeks in summer 2021!!"

"Really nice house with a multitude of hangout spaces, including front and rear (screened-in) porches. Idk whether it was built new or underwent a significant rehab at some point, but the look and feel is consistently high-quality. The owner is an artist whose work -- sort of a beachside Edward Hopper, oddly -- graces the walls. Nice flow from the front porch to LR/kitchen. Nicely sized bedrooms. Two full baths of ofc the backyard in-ground pool."
