Overview

3 DRIFTWOOD COURT

Walk up 16 steps to a front porch where a large concrete pelican invites you to sit down and enjoy an ocean view and a great breeze. Two rocking chairs and an outside dining table/chairs offer a place for morning coffee or an evening meal. You can also enter this house from inside the garage. Either way you will step into a soothing blue and green haven with low country art and tasteful nautical d├ęcor.

The living room has plenty of comfortable seating and a 47" flat screen TV. Pocket doors lead into a charming bedroom with twin beds. Next to this bedroom is another small bedroom with one twin bed. Down the hall is a full bath with a shower.
The fully equipped kitchen/dining area, with ample counter space and a desk, can be entered from the hall or from the living room. A kitchen bar seats four and the dining table seats six. You can see the ocean from the living and the dining area.
The second floor, 18 steps up, has three bedrooms. The two queen bedrooms are separated by a full bath with a shower/tub combo and a closet with the washer/dryer. There is a panoramic ocean view from the spacious master bedroom which opens onto the upper deck. The master has a TV, sofa, and a bath with a double vanity, a Jacuzzi style tub and a shower. One of the queen bedrooms also has a view of the water.
You can enter the upstairs deck from the hall as well as from the master bedroom. Sit in the Adirondack type chairs and enjoy that panoramic view while the breezes blow your cares away.
Beautiful but easy care floors in the living/dining/kitchen areas are reclaimed wood from an old barn. The bathrooms are tiled and the bedrooms have carpet. This house has lots of light which can be adjusted with plantation shutters or blinds.
Located in a mostly residential neighborhood, this house is across the street from the beach walkway. This quiet area of the north beach is ideal for families.

"Jim and Tybee Cottages made our last minute stay at Tybee memorable! Second to none!"

Stacey R. from , 06/01/2011

"The location and neighborhood could not of been better."

Rebecca J. from , 07/11/2011

"Our stay on Tybee was fantastic. The house is a beautifully decorated, well-stocked beach house and the location could not be better. Only a 2 minute walk from front door to the shore! The neighborhood is nice and quiet and the beach is not too crowded.

Thanks, Jim, for your recommendation and help!"

Whitney Z. from Decatur, 08/28/2011

"Have stayed at 3 DW several times. Housecleaning seems somewhat superficial. Refrig door completely lacks shelving. Porch furniture needs paint. Loose balustrades on front porch steps."

Everett K. from , 11/01/2011

"We celebrated our anniversary with friends and had a wonderful time. We loved the house, loved the property and loved the view. When they said "complete kitchen," they weren't kidding. We did not need to bring anything. Thanks to Jim Heflin for his guidance and help. "

john h. from Atlanta, 11/10/2011

"Wonderful beach house, very clean, great location. Loved our stay there!! "

"The property was nice and excellent location to the beach and downtown Tybee. There were a couple of items that you might want to look into: 1.Shower upstairs leaks down into kitchen above stove, thinks it's actually leaking around the drain. 2.Day 3 into our stay we realized that the windows were open a little bit in every room, we closed them. 3. The bathroom downstairs felt like the tile was loose and might need some repairs 4. I think I would give it an excellent rating if there was a little more cleaning, there was a lot of dust on basebords, door hinges. At the end of the day it was great, Thanks..."

"Generally our stay at 3 Driftwood was great, the location was excellent for families. It was quite and close to the beach and with a view of the ocean.

The house was nicely arranged and with very usable furnishings.

A couple of minor suggestions....dryer did not work, but the owner did have it repaired but not successful; the Hot water was VERY hot and could be danger to young children. It would be nice if the TV's were updated to Flat Screens in the future, but certainly not necessary."

Paul L. from Uniontown, 04/10/2012

"Excellent property and location, especially since we had our son and his family stay with us for a week, perfect size and layout for 4adults 2 children. Great beach access and marvelous views from both balconies. Extremely quiet and private location.
There were some minor maintenance needs, which did not at all disrupt our stay. Upstairs bath room shower had a leak, a family of doves lived in the eaves, one garage door would not open....rust? Every thing else worked great."

"My husband and I stayed here with two other couples. We all have kids under one. The house was in great shape and so close to the beach. When we go back to Tybee we will rent this one again!"

Stephanie M. from , 04/20/2012

"I recently rented 3 Driftwood Court for a beach vacation for my mom & my sisters. The house is in a private community with it's own beach accesses (meaning less crowded beaches). The house is 2nd row, with beach access directly across the street. The house actually has 5 bedrooms (the fifth being a single twin)and has a great ocean view from the 2nd floor deck. We found the kitchen to be pretty well stocked with dishes, pots & pans, and utensils. I'm not one to go to the beach to watch TV, but a flat screen would be a great addition to the house. Jim with Tybee Cottages was very helpful and receptive before and during our stay. "

"Wonderful!"

Shawn B. from , 07/17/2012

"The property was everything we had hoped for. Jim was so helpful in getting us in and we could not have asked for a more restful and relaxing vacation. The view from lower and upper decks is beachfront even though you are actually across the street there is no house to block the view. Kitchen with everything you need and plenty of bath and bedrooms. Just a few little maintenance things but nothing we could not handle. Main bedroom shower drain very slow, sliding doors locking mechanism very hard to lock, garage door opener not working. None of these items would keep us from another week in this property. The location was very suitable for our family as it is away from the hustle and bustle and the beach is nice on the north end of the island. I highly recommend this property for anyone headed for Tybee Island."

Gregory A S. from Greenville, 08/06/2012

"We have relied on Jim Heflin many times over the years to help us choose the right home for our yearly extended fall stay on Tybee. If you are considering a Tybee vacation, call Jim and talk to him about what you need and want. We have learned that he is trustworthy and caring. This has made the vacations of the last decade pleasant and care free."

Bill H. from , 10/23/2012

"Had bad allergy problems during stay. May be from a cat previously there? Also kitchen needs to be better equipped. Missing mixer, opener ( I purchased a can opener, as well as some serving /cooking utensils."

Patty H. from , 03/19/2013

"Once again we completely enjoyed our stay on Tybee and it was due in part to this great rental. Perfect location. Spacious and clean. Thanks again to Jim from Tybee Cottages for helping make our time on Tybee comfortable and scenic. Would highly recommend this property. "

Patricia W. from Cowlesville, 04/08/2013

"Our family, including 4 adult children, chose this home to celebrate an important milestone. The layout was perfect for cooking together and enjoying each others' company yet the house is large enough to ensure privacy too. The seaside location was just right for all 6 of us. Jim Heflin's suggestions made our stay even better. We love Tybee! "

Ken V. from , 05/27/2013

"We have stayed at 3 Driftwood several times. The house was spotless when we arrived. Jim Heflin, the manager, is always helpful and responds quickly to any questions or problems (when we discovered on Sunday morning that the toaster wasn't working, we emailed him and he had a new one delivered within a couple of hours). Everything else worked fine except that the wifi signal was weak throughout the house and slow. I think the problem is the Belkin Wireless G router, which is now several generations old and not a terribly good unit to begin with. You really should consider replacing it with a new Wireless N router (not expensive; about $50 at Best Buy). Stick with a brand like Netgear, Asus or Linksys."

Tina C. from , 08/19/2013

"Wonderful house, very close to the beach. We were able to walk right to the beach with our two year old. The location is in the "quieter" part of Tybee and we liked that. Clean home, nice views."

Timothy S. from Summit, 08/22/2013

"This was a nice place to spend time and enjoy family and the water along with great food. Savannah was a pleasent experience too."

Leo H. from Louisville, 08/27/2013

"Stayed with family at 3 Driftwood Court in early September. Had stayed here once before, and love the location -- just across a private street from the dunes and beach. The house is roomy and easily accommodates up to 8 adults. Minor plumbing issues (drains are slow)but otherwise a great place to enjoy ocean views and little traffic. Property Manager, Jim Heflin, is helpful and accommodating."

"As always, Jim and crew take care of you. No issues with any problems. The furniture is getting worn and a bit dirty but I actuallt appreciated that when my grandkids came. I wasn't neurotic about sheets to cover anything they sat on. "

Patty H. from , 03/03/2014

"This was our 2 year to stay in this property, so we knew what we were getting. We had 6 adults and 3 young kids so the quiet street and closeness of the beach was a plus. The furnishings in the house were worn some but the general condition of the house was clean and neat. if our family doesn't grow too much more, we will continue to stay in this house and location. We love Tybee Island. Jim Heflin was a great support from the Tybee Cottages management team and worked with us very well. "

Paul L. from Uniontown, 04/09/2014

"Wonderful experience at this Tybee Island vacation rental. Home was clean and kitchen was well stocked. Terrific views of ocean and short walk to beach. Jim, property manager, was very professional and courteous. He responded promptly to questions or issues, if any arose."

Cathy D. from , 08/04/2014

"We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at 3 Driftwood. The view is awesome and the beach is quiet and private. The home is beautiful with plenty of space. We have been to Tybee 3 times and this location and home is the best! We will be back again."

Melissa G. from Morning View, 07/21/2015

"Our family had a wonderful vacation. Jim was very helpful and available. The house was beautiful and in a great location, directly across from the beach access. All around great home and experience!"

Clare B. from , 07/27/2015

"The house was wonderful and perfect for 6 adults. Everything we needed we were able to find. Jim was very helpful and loaned us several beach chairs for the week. The second floor deck was a perfect place to sit in the evenings and watch the ships come in. Access to the beach was just across the street so it was easy to come back if we forgot something. We will definitely rent from Tybee Cottages and hopefully be able to stay at Driftwood Lane again. Many Thanks Jim!"

from Allison park, 08/24/2015

"We enjoyed our stay at 3 Driftwood Court. The location was great. Our group ranged in age from 90 to 14, and this property suited all our needs. It was quiet and the beach was not crowded, but it was also a short bike ride for our teens to go where they wanted to. "

Cynthia B. from Saint Albans, 08/28/2015

"Tybee was a quiet, peaceful place to relax. The house was just a few steps over the sand dunes and there was a nice view from the top level balcony. The house was also well stocked and furnished."

melody i. from Indpls, 10/19/2015

"Our fifth year spending a large part of September and October at 3 Driftwood was just as peaceful as ever. Quiet days watching the shipping enter and leave the Savannah River Roads from the decks and huge glass doors, watching the flocks of migrating birds and Monarch butterflies who use the Eastern flyway as their access to their winter grounds in Mexico and Latin America, and witnessing the extraordinary numbers of pelicans and other shore birds that have rebounded from near extinction was as wonderful as always.

Jim Heflin continues his 15 year run of providing us with wonderful North Beach properties that are clean, comfortable and fully equipped. Extended stays make 3 Driftwood seem like home after the first few days.

One of our favorite activities is to watch during the evening as the Lazaretto Creek shrimpers trawl just a few hundred feet from shore and then purchasing shrimp just off the boat at the Lazaretto market. Then cooking the shrimp the same day they were caught and eating them while watching the pelicans return at sunset to their wildlife preserve in flying strings of hundreds of birds is an unforgettable experience."

Bill H. from , 10/27/2015

"My annual trip to 3 Driftwood makes winter bearable. Jim Heflin is most responsive."

Patty H. from , 03/08/2016

"First time staying on Tybee Island. It is a great house, clean comfortable and a short walk to the beach. Would definitely recommend it. "

from Markleville, 05/01/2016

"great location for a family with toddlers."

Robert L. from Marietta, 06/06/2016

"This was such a great stay for our entire family. The location was perfect for all ages. Beach access was effortless for grand babies and grandma alike and the breathtaking sunsets over the river and marsh were a casual stroll along the beach. What could be better than sunrise in the morning and sunset in the afternoon? When the beach gets old, Savannah is a 20 minute dive. The house was spacious, giving everyone the ability to spread out and relax or gather in the kitchen for group meal preparation. We have recommended this home to friends and we will definitely be back soon. "

Julia B. from , 06/12/2016

"Jim is very easy to work with. The house was very comfortable and the porches/location/beach access was ideal."

Jennifer B. from Savannah, 07/11/2016

"This is our third time staying in this property. The location can't be beat and the house has the perfect amount of space for our crew. Jim Heflin makes the rental process easy and smooth. Can't recommend 3 Driftwood Ct. enough."

Whitney Z. from Decatur, 09/22/2016

"The cottage was quite nice. The downstairs bathroom toilet ran too much and we had minor issues with tv, but they were addressed almost immediately."

Karen J. from , 06/12/2017

"This was first time renting this particular property and it was ideal for our large extended family. The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. The view is exceptional with very easy beach access. We particularly enjoyed ordering pizzas and eating on the beach while watching the sunset. We have stayed on Tybee for 25 years and this house is a step up from your average Tybee rental. You can always count on Jim Heflin at Tybee Cottages to be spot on about the properties he handles. He's also very quick to respond if you have a problem. Yes, we're those people who manage to lock themselves out of their rental and appreciate quick responses."

Barbara B. from , 07/10/2017

"The house was beautiful and very convenient. Easy access to beach in a very quiet area. We found the house to be clean and supplied with everything that we needed. Recommend renting a golf cart for the week. Easier to get around the island plus lots of fun!"

"Completely enjoyed our stay at 3 Driftwood, only stayed a few days, but had a great time. Great location to North Beach and Lighthouse. Loved the Crab Shack, and Sundae Cafe and walking the beach and surrounding area. Would consider coming back but to stay longer. Tybee was a different beach experience for us."

Gail M. from Forest, 04/09/2018

"Our family spent a long weekend on Tybee. The home made for a lovely get away and yet was close enough to Savannah for when we were ready for some nightlife. The best of both worlds!"

from Greensboro, 05/30/2018

"3 Driftwood Ct is a beautiful home with soft soothing colors, hardwood floors, beadboard on the ceilings. The home has so much character. Their is plenty of sleeping space on comfy beds and a nice view of the ocean on the top deck. My only suggestion would be a little more comfortable outdoor seating and TVs in the bedrooms. Will definitely stay at 3 Driftwood Ct again. Also had a quick response from Mr. Jim when we locked ourselves out of the house."

Tammy H. from Shiloh, 09/05/2018

"2 months at 3 Driftwood May just not be long enough. It is my happy place. Great views and a wonderful neighborhood. "
