Pelican Point is a new name for a very old house. Originally moved from town and placed on this lot in 1920 by the Solomon family, this house has recently undergone a major renovation. Until now most recently known as The Lientz Cottage or 10 North Lovell, this spot has one of the most magnificent views on all of Tybee. Sitting right on the beach with the ship's passage in and out of the Port of Savannah front and center, the house has 3 bedrooms and one small room off of the Master Suite lovingly known as "the nursery" with a twin bed and room for a pack and play.

There are three full baths, two up and one down, a newly modernized kitchen and large dining room. Please note that the kitchen is downstairs. There is no interior access from the main living area to the kitchen. A nice porch with a large table on the first floor is perfect for a low country supper or casual dinner for a crowd. The dining room also has a table suitable for a big group. The upstairs porch is wonderful for breakfast, lunch or dinner or just for sitting and watching the ships, the people on the beach or the dolphins playing and the pelicans flying north in the morning and south in the evening right over the corner of the porch. A large great room as well as the bedrooms and bathrooms are all situated on the second floor. The great room is perfect for watching television shows, movies, playing games, working on puzzles or just visiting with family and friends while enjoying a beachfront view. The downstairs also has a nice open sitting/play area where the morning breezes are particularly inviting. The laundry room is located on this level of the rental cottage.

Great place and view!

"We really enjoyed our peaceful week at Pelican Point. The close proximity and the view of the beach was ideal and gorgeous. The home is clean and well maintained and suited our families needs. The porches were amazing and very relaxing, the kitchen very efficient and the bedroom spaces quite ample. We will be back!"

"Awesome!"

"Enjoyable - year after year"

"We know of no better place to stay - right on the beach, clean, updated, perfect. We have stayed here for six years and love it. So many things provided in this residence."

from Conyers, 05/27/2019

"Perfect spot on the beach. Beautiful views, screened deck/porch comfortable, great for watching the ships and ocean. House has all the necessities for eating in. Location is in easy walking distance of shops and restaurants."

"This place is perfect for the family who wants the classic "cottage by the sea in the dunes" feel. What a wonderful location and old renovated cottage home! Old hardwood floors and bright clapboard walls throughout. The perfect cottage feel for us! Colors are coastal whites and inviting yet modern amenities throughout. Beds are SUPER comfortable in all rooms (a plus for rentals). Everything you could need is in the home from the downstairs kitchen (which was perfect for us) to reading materials, blankets, toys/puzzles and beach items (toys, chairs, umbrella, wagons...another HUGE bonus). Loved the open air under cottage space for drying laundry, swinging on the swings, extra "after ocean" large shower and half bath so as not to drag sand into the upstairs as well as the outdoor shower. The upstairs outdoor covered porch was a huge bonus to sit outside and watch the ocean and not be bothered by bugs. Very well appointed in amenities. And by far the best customer service you can have in Tybee...Jim is WONDERFUL at handling any questions, concerns, issues and is always available if not immediately...within a very short reasonable time frame. This is our second year with Tybee Cottages and our first in this property. Unless we buy a home here, we will continue to use Tybee Cottages and Jim for our annual Tybee vacations (and any other stays we come in for)! This cottage will not disappoint! Miss it already!!"

Danica R. from Morgantown, 06/25/2018

"The view from the upper porch is outstanding. We spent as much time as possible on the front porch, cooled by the ceiling fans and natural breezes, watching the ships sail in and out of the port of Savannah. Two of the three large bedrooms have two double or queen beds, the master bedroom has a king. The small room off the master bedroom, with one twin bed, was enjoyed by one of our grown grandsons, delighted to have his own private room! We loved eating in the old dining room at the large blue table, or out on the porches. Pelican Point is comfortably furnished, filled with books, puzzles and games. Most of the rooms have ocean views. "

"We love this home. We feel like we are coming home for a visit. This house has so much character. If you want to feel comfortable and cozy right on the beach, then this is the house for you."

Cheryl B. from Jonesborough, 05/19/2018

"This home is a paradise! It has been very well-maintained. The beachfront location was better than we had imagined! Our host Jim was incredibly gracious and accommodating, A fantastic and restful week!!!"

"Very good location. House very clean and the area was quiet."

"A stellar property. Clean, spacious, up-to-date, decorated in a particularly friendly manner, it was a perfect fit for our party of nine. It's also about 100 yards from a fairly private beach, and a quick bike ride to the pier, the lighthouse, Gerald's, and the North Beach Bar and Grill (also, there's a liquor store right across the street). The appliances are basically industrial-strength, and the proprietor was kind, smart, and eager to help at all times! Finally, the upstairs and downstairs decks provided stunning ocean and sunrise and sunset views (we had amazing weather). I do recommend you do two things: If you are going with families, as we did, think carefully about how they will sleep. We don't have kids,so we took the master, and one of our friends' kids slept in the little private bedroom; another set of friends slept in with their 12-year-old in one of the two-bed rooms, and our other friends slept with their other son in the other. It depends on how your families are configured, but honestly they can bust out to the couch or the decks, especially if you bring sleeping bags. Secondly, reserve bikes from Tim's (right around the corner)! We had a fabulous time and are coming back next year!"

"The cottage was lovely and well-appointed with anything we might need. We loved the view of the ocean and walking out directly from the house for long walks on the beach.

Our reservation at the cottage was for two weeks after Hurricane Matthew. The management worked closely with us to make the go/nogo decision. So glad we went!"

"The title says it all."

"Jim was a tremendous help, made our stay even better. View from large, comfortable screen porch was marvelous. House was furnished with everything we needed, except for more time to stay and enjoy ourselves!"

Wayne T. from Greenville, 03/29/2016

"Perfect location for beach access. Has its own private gate to beach, which most properties don't . All bedrooms have matching bed pillows with curtain trim. Good matresses on all beds, lots of books for reading and games, and toys if you have children with you. The furniture is not antique or beach tacky..but comfortable and kid friendly. (No orientalist rugs). I liked the fact that you didn't have much to do upon leaving. Just make sure the frig was cleaned out. However we did tidy up a bit. Only negative was kitchen was on the ground floor with no inside entrance but no problem as a micro wave and mini frig and coffee maker was also provided upstairs in family room. We loved this place!"

Sharon S. from Roanoke, 01/04/2016

"Seven of us (grandparents, parents, three active boys ages 5-7-10) enjoyed Pelican Point at 10 Lovell Avenue on Tybee Island for five nights. The beach location was perfect for digging, building, running in the water (too chilly for grownups) and more running in water. The easy access to the cottage's outside shower, then downstairs inside shower, and laundry room made cleaning the boys quickly to get ready for another romp. The beds were comfortable, and the "nook" off the master was used by boys, and dad on various nights. The upstairs porch is a great place to sit and relax. Having the kitchen downstairs was different, but worked well when that area could be used for games, eating, crafts, and watching the water. We spent hours at Ft. Pulaski listening to speakers, watching the musket drill, and the boys earned a Jr. Ranger Patch to add to their collection. Savannah is an easy drive away, and we spent a day there, but opted to stay on the beach for the last day. Our thanks for all the puzzles, books, games, beach toys, and comfortable furnishings. Our Tybee connection, Jim, was spectacular answering questions and helping get the tv ready for the Thanksgiving games. We loved the entire experience!"

Charlotte G. from Punta Gorda , 12/02/2015

"Everything was perfect. This was by far the best beach house we've experienced at Tybee. We will definitely be back!"

Matthew D. from Decatur, 09/09/2015

"If you're looking for a spacious and clean beach house right on the ocean, this is the house for you! This historical house offers all the modern amenities and has the best view of Tybee. My family and I can't wait to come back!"

Sharon M. from , 07/20/2015

"One week stay ending June 6, 2015"

from , 06/09/2015

"We could not have been more pleased. All was made ready, clean. Property has been totally renovated/updated in such a excellent manner. We lacked for nothing, all our needs were met all the way to the Keurig (not expected). 80 steps to the water's edge. We loved the comfortable setting of the second floor, screened in porch, just beautiful, and great view for both morning sunrise and cool evenings."

from Conyers, 05/18/2015

"We stayed here early April. No crowds mild weather and it really felt like you had your own beach. The rental had everything you need to enjoy the time at the beach."

Todd M. from Murfreesboro, 04/04/2015

"I spent a week here with my family over the winter holiday period and we really enjoyed our stay. Checking in and out was fine, the place was in perfect order when we arrived, and it's a great location near the beach. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped (the popcorn maker was a nice surprise but we never managed to find any wooden spoons!), and we also enjoyed eating at the nearby Sundae cafe (2-min walk from the house).

The house is not right in the centre of Tybee so if you want to be where all the action is it's not the best place, but if you want a good spot for going on walks and spending time at the beach or just relaxing at home, then it's a great option. "

Catherine L. from Oak Park, 01/17/2015

"We loved it!! It would have been nice to have a few more washcloths."

Shannon B. from , 06/23/2014

"Six women from Nebraska spent one wonderful week at this home. The enclosed, screened-in porch on the top level was perfect. Comfortable furniture, no bugs, and a great view of the ocean. Kitchen amenities, ocean amenities (small surf boards, beach toys, extra beach towels, were greatly appreciated. The way the home was put together is awesome. Your sand stays on the lower level in the open, yet enclosed lower level. The shower with a separate bathroom downstairs is very practical. Having the kitchen being separated from the main living quarters was not a main issue. (Good exercise going up and down the stairs) "

from , 06/19/2014

"A great experience. We'd return tomorrow if that were possible."

from , 06/16/2014

"The last time most of us had seen each other was 30 some years ago in Jr. High. We could not have expected a more peaceful place to become reacquainted. This is a great place- Well decorated, spacious, clean and well stocked. The house is right on the beach, and it can not be beat! My friends and I were all very happy with Pelican Point.
P.S. Don't be discouraged that the kitchen is downstairs. There is a fridge, microwave and a coffee pot upstairs. Many Thanks to the group at Tybee Cottages and the owners! Chris"

Mary H. from Johnson City, 05/21/2014

"We looked for something smaller at first, because our number had dwindled. Luckily other family members joined us. There's no place we'd rather stay on Tybee!"

Michael R. from , 04/10/2014

"The views from the porch, sounds of the waves and the comfortable, old-cottage feel made our stay great! We loved how we could leave the doors to the screened-in porch open so the sounds of the waves would fill the house. This is a great place if you want to be as close to the beach as possible. We will definitely be staying at Pelican Point again - Can’t wait to get back to Tybee!"

Shawn B. from , 08/08/2013

"great location step outside on the beach"

Tom W. from , 06/19/2013

"This is the ideal house for a family reunion where each adult couple had their own space and yet could comfortably gather together and have many laughs. The house is perfectly equipted.
The only dangerous concern was that the change in level of the flooring is not documented: a white painted line should mark it."

Michelle B. from , 05/06/2013

"lovely view in quiet area near stores and places to eat "

Nancy B. from , 04/01/2013

"For the past two years, we have had absolutely wonderful experiences and vacations with Tybee Cottages. If you want to be on the beach, the location of Pelican Point is perfect. The space is great too, especially if your family members have different sleep schedules. Finally, I must say they always think of the little things like beach chairs, toys, towels, and cooking supplies."

Michael R. from , 03/21/2013

"We really enjoyed Pelican Point. The location is perfect, just steps from the beach. The home was very clean; this was really important to us since we have a one year old child. We will definitely be back!"

Timothy S. from Summit, 09/11/2012

"The house was lovely and the view spectacular."

Kristen A. from savannah, 08/26/2012

"We enjoyed our vacation at Pelican Point. The location is perfect - close to everything, but not too crowded. The house is lovely and Jim is very nice to work with."
