This large, Charleston style home sits right in the middle of the historic district on the popular and highly sought after Tenth Street. The original home, built in 1959, was recently moved to another location on Tybee, vacating the ideal spot for this taller and updated beauty. The view from the now three story home will quite literally take your breath away. The 5,000 square foot home sits one back from the beach and is only yards away from the wooden foot bridge to the beach. You are well within walking distance to Tybee's small village, as well as the local grocery store which is only two blocks away. There are five bedrooms in this home and each has its own bathroom. On the upper level( third) is the master suite with a queen bed, huge master bathroom, large gourmet kitchen with wrap around bar for seating, powder room, dining room area and living room with TV and a covered porch with seating areas and dining table. The outdoor seating is not your typical fare. The seats and backs are fully upholstered, making you feel you are in an outdoor living room instead of just a porch. The kitchen is fully equipped with high end appliances and everything one would want to create either a gourmet meal or just breakfast for two. The stools that surround the bar area are also fully upholstered and swivel. Linen sofas, overstuffed, beachy chairs covered in chenilles and a long dining table with eight slip covered chairs complete the living area. The colors are that of the sea in tones of blues, greens, and aqua. No detail has been spared in the exquisite furnishings and it becomes apparant that htis is not just a rental, it is truly a home. The warmth of heart pine and the beauty of granite and glass tile surrounds you. The owners have nicknamed the top floor "the penthouse" and with good reason. On the second floor are three additional bedrooms, all with queen beds and their own private bathrooms. The walls are heart pine, replicating the home that was moved and bringing with it the warmth the owners have come to love over the past fifteen years. The colors used are still in blues and greens with the color of sunshine added in the mix. There is a living room area with a TV, a kitchenette with refrigerator, sink, and microwave, and a large sunporch with white wicker abound drenched in bright, beachy fabrics. The walls are yellow and they let you know you are in a happy place. There is also a dining table with six chairs on the closed-in porch and one with four next to the kitchenette. Off the main hallway is a powder room and large laundry room with brand new, energy efficient washer and dryer. The main entrance is on this floor. The ground floor has garage space for two cars. There is also an additional bedroom with four twin beds, a full bathroom, a TV area with seating and a pool table for recreation when not on the beach. The home is equipped with an elevator from the bottom floor to the top. There is an outdoor shower as well so rinsing off the hours of fun at the beach before entering the home is both a breeze and highly welcomed.
